Then the actor fell ill with cancer and just a year after the diagnosis lost the fight against the insidious disease. Rossano Rubicondi died in October 2021 at the age of 49. “I’m devastated,” Ivana Trump told People magazine at the time.
She was by his side until the end, as his parents confirmed in an interview a few days later. Ivana was also the only one who informed Rossano about the diagnosis, otherwise no one knew.
Even his parents only found out about their son’s lung cancer when he was found dead in his apartment. The two lived together in Prague and studied at Charles University. According to a report in New York Magazine, when Syrovatka left Czechoslovakia for Canada, he arranged for Ivana to marry his Austrian skiing friend Alfred Winklmeyer.
