Klaas-Jan Huntelaar have agreed with Liverpool for the transfer season re-open / EPL Transfer News

Liverpool have agreed on everything for the next season with the Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Liverpool are ready and waiting to launch a bid to sign Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. The Schalke man is in the final year of his current contract and could be available for a fraction of his market value when the transfer window re-opens.

Huntelaar is out of contract at the end of the season and has been on the Reds’ radar for some time.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a number of clubs in recent weeks and his future with Schalke is uncertain after talks over a new deal were postponed until December.

This source believes that the Merseyside club are ready to make an offer for the 29 year old if he does indeed opt to reject any offer of a new deal from his current Bundesliga side.

Last week the Netherlands international insisted he was “too busy” to make a decision about his future before the Bundesliga’s winter break, which runs from December 15th for a month.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is ready to make his move for the Dutchman as he looks to bring in at least one new striker during the January transfer window in a bid to ease the pressure on Uruguay international forward Luis Suarez.
Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt recently admitted he did not believe Huntelaar was currently capable of making a decision on whether to sign a new deal or find a new club.
Heldt told Sport 1: “We have decided that until December we will not make any more calls and we’ll await developments.
“That is the wish of the player and I agree with it.
“I feel that Klaas-Jan is, at the moment, not able to decide.”
However, Heldt expects the forward to make a decision on his future when talks resume, adding: “I’ll demand a quick decision.”

The former Ajax man struggled at both Real Madrid and AC Milan before his move to the Bundesliga rejuvenated Huntelaar’s flagging career. Last term the Dutchman scored an incredible 47 goals in all competitions and has started the current campaign in a similar fashion.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has just two recognised senior strikers but currently only has Uruguayan international Luis Suarez available as new signing Fabio Borini is sidelined with a broken foot.
