United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has said 15-year-old Malala Yousufzai,  who survived an assassination attempt by Taliban militants, continues to inspire people of Pakistan and world with her courage.

Islamabad, Jan 5/Nationalturk – A day after Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousufzai, who survived an assassination attempt by Taliban militants, was discharged from hospital in London, United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said she (Malala) continues to inspire people of Pakistan and world with her courage.

According to Pakistan’s State news agency, APP, Moon wished Malala Yousafzai all the best after learning that the 15-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl was discharged from a hospital in England.

“Malala continues to inspire the people of Pakistan and the world with her courage, determination and example,” the UN chief said in a statement released by his spokesman Martin Nesirky.

It said UN chief wishes Malala all the best as she moves further along the road of recovery. “We continue to work to ensure every girl can go to school”.

Meanwhile, people in Pakistan have prayed for her quick recovery.

Earlier, yesterday Malala was discharged from Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England.

The 15-year-old girl would continue her rehabilitation at her family’s temporary English home before undergoing major reconstructive surgery in a few weeks.

Malala was shot in head by Taliban militants

Malala was evacuated to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham on October 15 after Taliban militants  shot her in the head as she travelled on a school bus in Swat, Pakistan.

Malala first rose to prominence aged just 11 with a blog for the BBC Urdu service in 2009 in which she described life in Swat during the bloody rule of the Taliban. Her calls for improved education for girls attracted the attention of the Taliban, ultimately leading to the attempt on her life.
