Pakistan army has claimed to have unearthed suicide bombers training camps and 11 bomb making factories used by terrorists in Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan, which has been cleared of terrorists.

Islamabad, July 11/Nationalturk – Pakistan army has unearthed suicide bombers training camps, bomb making factories and torture cells used by terrorists in Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan.

Pakistan army launched operation against local and foreign terrorists in country’s North Waziristan tribal agency on June 15.

“80 per cent area of Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan Agency has been cleared of terrorists,” a Pakistan army official said.

North Waziristan remained virtually under the control of the terrorists before Pakistan army launched the operation codenamed Zarb e Azb to flush out the terrorists.

“During the search operation Miranshah, security forces unearthed scores of training camps of the suicide bombers, torture cells, explosive manufacturing factories, seized brain washing literature, and 23 tons of explosive materials.

Pakistan Army ISPR director Major General Asim Bajwa said about 400 terrorists have been killed while 130 have been injured in the operation so far.

‘Over 2000 IEDs recovered’

“Over 2,000 IEDs were found from the 11 IED factories discovered by the military in Miranshah,” Maj-Gen Bajwa said.

He said army had also discovered the underground tunnels that the militants had constructed in the area. “One of the tunnels made by the militants was two kilometers long”.

Pakistan army official said Miramshah was one of their (terrorists) major base and they have dislodged them from here .

“They are on the run and their capabilities have been hit hard,” he said.

According to Pakistan army spokesman 20 soldiers have also been killed in the operation so far.

He said the tribesmen of North Waziristan do not want militants to return to their area. “The state will also not allow militants to return and disturb peace in the country”.
