Pakistan is not a legitimate country, said former Indian judge and  Press Council of India (PCI) chairman Markandey Katju.

New Delhi, Dec 8/Nationalturk-  A former Indian judge and Press Council of India (PCI) chairman Markandey Katju Saturday said Pakistan is not a legitimate country and 90 per cent Indian citizens are “idiots”.

“I don’t recognize Pakistan as a legitimate country because the whole basis is the two nation theory and I don’t accept the two nation theory,” Katju said while addressing a seminar on reporting in conflict zones organised by the South Asia Media Commission in Indian capital today.

He said the two-nation theory was encouraged by the British post 1857 to create rift between Hindus and Muslims. “Many of my Pakistan friends agree now that the entire ploy was by the English”.

Katju said unification of India and Pakistan is the only solution to the Kashmir problem. “The time has come for India and Pakistan to re-unite to solve the Kashmir issue. There is no solution except the unification of the two countries.”

90 per cent Indian were “idiots”

The former Indian judge said 90 per cent of Indians were “idiots” with hay in their brain. “They can be easily taken for a ride. When voting, they don’t see the merit of the candidate, but go by caste and related considerations”.

“Even the educated people in India vote in elections on caste or sectarian lines, which showed how backward people are”.
