Ramzan Kadyrov: Russia still plans to occupy Kyiv and other cities

In a message on Telegram, Kadyrov lays out Russia’s war plans. An attack on Kyiv is not off the table.

Ramzan Kadyrov, President of Russia’s Chechen Republic, said in a message published on Telegram on Sunday evening that Russian forces are planning not only an offensive on the besieged port city of Mariupol, but also on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities.

“There will be an offensive not only on Mariupol, but also on other cities and villages,” Kadyrov announced on the social network, adding: “First we will liberate Luhansk and Donetsk, and then we will take Kyiv and all other cities .” Kadyrov is considered a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Just because the enemy has withdrawn from Kyiv does not mean that Russia has given up its desire to take the capital, Ukrainian capital Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned on Telegram on Sunday. “It cannot be ruled out that in two days they will try again to take Kyiv,” he said.

According to Wolodymyr Klitschko, the Russians, who have now focused on the offensive in eastern and southern Ukraine, may return and make a new attempt at an offensive on Kyiv.
