The American actor Shia LaBeouf has signed up to star in Lars von Trier’s new erotic drama The Nymphomaniac, about a woman’s sexual awakening. Nymphomaniac follows one woman’s sexual adventures (Charlotte Gainsbourg), as told through her husband (Stellan Skarsgard).

Presumably Shia LaBeouf will be one of the woman’s lovers, but perhaps he will be playing Nicole Kidman’s sex-partner, as she is also attached to the project.

Shia LaBeouf has announced that his blockbuster phase is over this week. From here on out Transformers star is focusing on working with indie artistes, starting with everyone’s favorite provocateur and The Nymphomaniac diorector Lars Von Trier.

Shia LaBeouf has told music station MTV during his interview with Jessica Chastain : ‘ There’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says, we’re doing the sex for real. And anything that is ‘illegal’ will be shot in blurred images, but other than that, everything is happening.

Charlotte Gainsbourg will play the lead and reunite with her Antichrist director in Nymphomaniac, in which Lars Von Trier wants to see the sexual arousement of a girl on screen. Stellan Skarsgard and Nicole Kidman have also signed on to join the cast.
