After months of speculation, Taylor Swift has finally confirmed the long-awaited Eras Tour documentary. The pop icon announced that her six-episode series, “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The End of an Era,” will debut on Disney+ on December 12. On the same day, fans will also get to watch “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show,” a full-length concert film capturing the tour’s grand finale.
A glimpse behind the global phenomenon
The docuseries offers a personal look at Swift’s life on the road — from backstage preparations to emotional moments shared with her team, family, and friends. According to “Good Morning America,” the series features special appearances from Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch. The first two episodes will stream on December 12, followed by two more episodes each of the next two weeks.
The final concert filmed in Vancouver
“The Final Show” brings the Eras Tour’s closing night to the screen, filmed at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver on December 8, 2023. The three-hour performance included 45 songs and new additions from Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department.” Fans are especially eager to see whether medleys like “A Place in This World / New Romantics” and “Long Live / New Year’s Day” will appear in the film.
Swift: “We wanted to remember every moment”
Sharing the announcement on social media, Swift wrote, “It was the end of an era, and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives. So we let filmmakers capture the tour and the final show in full.”
The six-part docuseries is directed by Don Argott and co-directed by Sheena M. Joyce, produced by Object & Animal. The concert film is directed by Glenn Weiss and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in collaboration with Silent House Productions.
From box-office success to digital debut
These new projects follow the record-breaking success of “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” which became the highest-grossing concert film ever before landing on Disney+. This time, instead of theaters, Swift is heading straight to streaming — a move that marks a new chapter in her creative journey.
Both the docuseries and concert film capture the intensity, emotion, and scale of the Eras Tour — closing one of the most remarkable eras in modern music with a heartfelt farewell to fans around the world.
