Chris Rene show off some undeniable talent, which was immediately found response in the eyes and bodies of all 4 judges, as soon as the trash collector and ex-drug addict started to sing one of his own.

Musical talent runs obviously in Rene’s family. His grandfather, Leon Rene, was a songwriter back in the 30’s – 50’s — his most famous composition is probably “Rockin’ Robin.” Leon’s son, Chris’s father Rafael “Googie” Rene, was a moderately successful jazz and soul singer in the 50’s and 60’s. These days, Chris’s sister Gina and brother Gabriel are both members of an electronica group called Soulstice.

Chris Rene has also a dark side and saw rock-bottom more than once in his life. Drugs were a part of Chris Rene’s life for a long time before he got clean. According to police records, Chris Rene was arrested for possession in both 2002 and 2007. He managed to clean up his act in time to audition for the X-Factor; being a father also helped him in this cause
