India Thursday said there can be no talks with Pakistan government unless it accepts mistake of its soldiers and punishes those responsible for “brutal” killing of two Indian soldiers at Line of Control (LoC), defacto border between India and Pakistan in Indian administered Kashmir.

New Delhi, Jan 17/Nationalturk : Hardening its stance towards its neighbouring country, India Thursday said there can be no talks with Pakistan government unless it accepts mistake of its soldiers and punishes those responsible for “brutal” killing of two Indian soldiers at Line of Control (LoC), defacto border between India and Pakistan in Indian administered Kashmir.

“The Pakistani government must accept its mistakes and punish those responsible for the barbaric attack on Indian soldiers along the LoC in the Poonch sector of Kashmir,” India’s Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said.

He said responding to Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar’s offer, who had suggested talks between foreign ministers to two countries resolve the crisis at the LoC.

Tiwari said ‘the only problem which needs to be resolved is the inhuman behaviour of the Pakistani soldiers.

Indian army has alleged that Pakistani soldiers crossed LoC in Poonch sector on January 8 and attacked Indian army’s patrol party. It said two of its soldiers were beheaded by Pakistani soldiers, who took head of one soldier alongwith them. However, Pakistan army has denied its involvement and said no such incident had taken place.

Indian Information minister said rather than giving sanctimonious homilies, Pakistan should respond positively to India’s concerns and hold accountable those people, who were responsible for beheading of Indian soldiers.

“I think that’s the minimalist response, which the Indian establishment is looking for. I think Pakistan should realise and understand the seriousness of the issue, the intent of the Indian establishment and respond to it appropriately,” he said.

He further said Indian leadership including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has already made it clear to Pakistan that there cannot be business as usual with Pakistan after “barbaric attack” on Indian soldiers.

Let us discuss all concerns to LoC: Pakistan FM

Earlier, Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar had said it is advisable for the two countries to discuss all concerns related to the LoC with a view to reinforcing respect for the ceasefire, may be at the level of the Foreign Ministers, to sort out things.

The tension between the two nuclear armed neighbours has escalated ever since  January 6 when Pakistan side alleged that India violated LoC ceasefire and targeted one of its posts in Hajipir sector in Kashmir, killing one of its soldier.

Since then two more Pakistani soldiers and two Indian soldiers have fallen to the bullets of each others at LoC.

With tension continuing to prevailing on LoC, China and United States have urged the two countries to maintain calm and peace and resolve their issues through talks and dialogue.
