Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says both the German champions and Manchester United want to complete a deal that sees Shinji Kagawa move to Old Trafford.
The Japanese international has refused to sign a contract extension at the German double winners and appears set to leave the club this summer.
United’s name has been regularly linked with his services, and when asked about a deal between the two clubs, Watzke says both sides are keen for a deal to be finalise.”Both sides want to conclude the deal,” he said.
Totaly £17.5 million.
After United were rebuffed this weekend from a bid of £13 million, the club were expected to up their transfer bid to the around £18 million.
While the club did raise it to an estimated £17.5 million, it was done in a different way than how it was thought to be done. In a shrewd bit of business by the Red Devils, the club reportedly have locked an initial fee of £12 million for Dortmund with riders on the contract being the stipulation as to how high it rises up to £17.5 million.
The signature of the 23-year-old Japanese star would see united start their midfield rebuilding this summer off on the right foot.
