Just around a year ago, Manchester United were willing to table a large fortune in order to acquire the services of the Dutchman, but negotiations with Inter Milan fell apart in the final stages of the transfer.

This time round Manchester United thoroughly scouted the market for other players before reigniting interest in Wesley Sneijder, therefore Inter Milan will have to think twice before snubbing Sir Alex Ferguson’s bid.

The Old Trafford boss could go for the fiery attacking midfielder Wesley Sneijder as he needs to replace Paul Scholes.
