Nathalie Volk raises serious allegations against Heidi Klum

Eight years ago, Nathalie Volk worked on the ninth season of “Germany’s Next Top Model”. Now she’s loudly railing against show founder Heidi Klum – and doesn’t leave a good hair on the casting format.

It all starts with a video on YouTube. Five days ago, a former participant in the ProSieben show GNTM posted a 28-minute statement with the casting format under the title “Germany’s next top model – what’s really happening behind the scenes?”. Lijana Kaggwa is her name, in 2020 she is part of Heidi Klum’s model search and as she now announces, she was treated like a “prisoner”.

According to her descriptions, the candidates were not allowed to leave their accommodations, go for a walk or go shopping during the three months of production in the USA. Otherwise there is a risk of immediate expulsion. In addition, according to Kaggwa in her video, the production team took away the mobile phones of all the candidates, they were not allowed to watch TV or eat sugary or fatty foods.

“ProSieben is examining legal steps”

ProSieben has already responded to the allegations. “ProSieben is examining legal steps,” said a broadcaster on Friday in Munich. The allegations are rejected, the 25-year-old is telling the untruth. Lijana Kaggwa suspected at the beginning of her remarks that her video would have consequences: “My first YouTube video after such a long time and then one for which I will be sued”.

But now she gets a prominent supporter: Nathalie Volk. The model has been well known in Germany since her relationship with mail order heir Frank Otto, and she keeps making headlines with stories about her private life. But now she’s obviously serious. She joins Kaggwa in accusing GNTM production company Redseven Entertainment and show boss Heidi Klum of acting unethically. “Very good video,” Volk writes in her latest Instagram story and links Kaggwa’s post, then she adds: “Heidi is a very wrong person.”

“This show is bullying and assault”

It also says there about “Germany’s next top model”: “This show is bullying and assault on young women”. Specifically, Nathalie Volk now describes a situation in which she suffered bruises in 2014. Heidi Klum “threw them into the pool” and “threw them off with colored balloons,” she apparently remembers incidents from production. She was 16 years old at the time and also “bled”.

“I have scars on my body because of Heidi,” claims Nathalie Volk eight years later. She doesn’t say exactly where she got the injuries and why she’s only now coming out with the language. Heidi Klum herself has not yet commented on the allegations.

But people go all out, writing: “This show is just as wrong as the alleged model mom and should have been discontinued a long time ago.” Next Thursday is this year’s finale of the model show. This year’s GNTM edition is already the 17th season. There has been criticism of the show since it started in 2006. But the makers have probably not yet experienced such serious allegations against Heidi Klum personally.
