NBA Conference news from East and West
Dear basketball and sports fans,
The heart of world Basketball, NBA has finally started the 2009-2010 season and yet again the NBA East and West Conferences started with great expectations/NBA News
The same teams that finished in the top half of the table last season are again expected to go to the NBA playoffs this season as these were the teams that done the flash transfers.
I will be evaluating the Eastern and Western Conference and the situations that the favorites are in, in my first article of the season
The favorites of the Eastern Conference are in the form of Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers.
From these teams Boston Celtics made a good start to the season and got their first defeat at their last game. The Boston Celtics bought NBA player Rasheed Wallace in the transfer period to improve the rebound rate via Wallace’s hight but lost Loen Powe.
The teams that I expect to surprise us are Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks who started the season very well and Detroit Pistons who started the season poorly.
The Orlando Magics started the season very well despite their player problems. I believe the team that scores the most baskets this year will be the Magics. Orlando who lost NBA players Hido, Rafer Alston and Courtney Lee, transferred one of the biggest players in the NBA, Vince Carter and became one of the favorites. Howard who has an extra year of experience beside Jameer Nelson, Rashard Lewis and Mickael Pietrus who all could not play in last years playoffs due to injuries became a very strong threat.
My last favorite from the Eastern Conference, Cleveland, is expected to ride on LeBron’s back yet again this season and difficult times await them. NBA Player Ben Wallace who has gotten old will be replaced by shaq who is also old but has a bigger presence to a team that was favorite to win last season but was a total failure. However I believe the Leon Powe transfer will be effective in short rotation tactics.
Now the teams that I expect to surprise us in the Eastern Conference.
Miami Heat bought Quentin Richardson to play beside Wade and to take some pressure of, of him. Do I believe this will be a successful pairing? Yes. Do I believe this is enough for them to be in the top half of the table? No.
Detroit Pistons in the other hand sent problem child Iverson, McDyess and Rasheed Wallace away and bought Ben Wallace and last seasons star for Chicago, Ben Gordon to balance the situation but I believe they will still have problems in reaching the playoffs.
Atlanta Hawks with Mike Bibby, Al Horford, Joe Johnson, Josh Smith is already a team that defends and scores well but by transferring Jamal Crawford I believe they will be testing the stronger teams in the eastern conference. Watch out for Atlanta who play especially well in their home games.
If we have a look at the Western Conference the favorites are last years champions Lakers, Denver Nuggets who had a slow transfer period and the Dallas Mavericks who’s squad has become a little old.
Lakers, lost Ariza from their strong team but transferred Ron Artest and got stronger but there may be a clash of egos amongst players. But still NBA’s best team is Lakers with superstar Kobe Bryant, I believe they will win the championship this year again.
Denver is trying to achieve the same success they got last year without adding much to their team.
The Dallas Mavericks who have transferred Shawn Marionto has become both experienced and a team that scores so they are one of my favorites this season.
Phoenix Suns and Portland started the season positively and are teams that could surprise us.
All-in-all we should expect a long, tiring and fun NBA season this year.
Basketball fans should ready them selves for sleepless nights. I wish you all a good season with unforgettable games.
