Sanna Marin: I am a human being

Finland: in turmoil and on the verge of tears, Prime Minister Sanna Marin defends her holidays

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin is under fire after Instagram videos leaked of her drunk with her friends.

“It’s private, it’s joy and it’s life, but I haven’t missed a single day of work,” she said at an event organized by her social- Democrat (SDP).

Do we have the right to party when we are a woman or a politician ? A question that arises following the controversy faced by Sanna Marin, the Finnish Prime Minister.

Last week, private videos of her dancing, drunk at a party with friends were released. During this evening, the young Prime Minister is filmed singing and dancing with personalities such as singer Alma, influencer Janita Autio, a deputy from her political party and television hosts.

An evening for which the politician had to justify herself. The opposition had in particular denounced a letting go, deemed incompatible with the exercise of its function.

“I am a human being”

“I have a family life, a professional career and sometimes a bit of free time that I spend with my friends. Just like many people my age,” she explained.

“I am a human being. I sometimes also yearn for joy, light and pleasure in the midst of these dark clouds, she declared Wednesday August 24, her voice trembling, during an event organized by his Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lahti, southern Finland. It’s private, it’s joy and it’s life, but I haven’t missed a single day of work,” she said, her eyes misty.

“I want to believe that people will watch what we do at work rather than what we do in our free time,” she pleaded yesterday, confident that the past week had been “pretty difficult”. In support of the Prime Minister, many women posted videos of themselves dancing on social media.

“Never in my life have I taken drugs”

Comments heard on the video of the evening were interpreted as referring to narcotics, a subject intensely debated on social networks. The Prime Minister had admitted to having drunk alcohol during this evening but had affirmed that: “Never in my life, and not even in my youth, did I take drugs”. Aged 34, the youngest active prime minister in the world even had to submit to a drug test which turned out to be negative.
