Though the vote for the Constitutional Referendum will take place on September 12, 2010, in Turkey, Turkish nationals living abroad will be able to start voting as of Tuesday at airport arrivals or departures.

Istanbul International Ataturk Airport, Turkey’s busiest airport completed their referendum preparation on Monday.

Over a million votes are expected to come from airports in a referendum where many experts believe it will be on a knife edge.

The reform package includes changes to the structure of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK).

Furthermore, the package repeals the Turkish Constitution’s Article 15, which gives immunity to the generals responsible for the Sept. 12, 1980 coup.
