Udo Lindenberg’s guitarist is dead
Carola Kretschmer, a well-known guitarist, has passed away at the age of 74. Colleague Udo Lindenberg says goodbye with emotional words.
For many years she was part of music star Udo Lindenberg’s panic orchestra, but now Carola Kretschmer has died unexpectedly. Lindenberg announces this in an Instagram post, with which he also shares a black and white photo of the deceased.
“Really a shocker – very sad,” he begins the post. “Our beloved tigress of Eschnapur, Carola Kretschmer, our pioneer on the guitar and in life, went ahead last night and checked the other side of the river…”
Lindenberg also talks about a special phase in the life of the 74-year-old: “First born in the ‘wrong body’ as ‘Thomas’, she then went through with it, her transition, from the initial difficulties to full and proud sovereignty.”
From the beginning Kretschmar participated in the panic orchestra. “When she played the solo of ‘Das Leben’ in our live shows, 50,000 people in the stadium held their breath… absolute highlight, on stage and as a friend.” He will miss her because they have known each other for 50 years.
In addition to her involvement with the Panikorchester, Kretschmer had also been involved in other music projects.
