The Chinese media have heavily criticized the US, on Monday for the planned $6.4 billion arms package to Taiwan.

United States officials have commented on the heavy criticism of the US by the Chinese media and government by saying Washington is committed to help Taiwan defend itself.

The last big dilemma between the two countries is one of many problems faced by the US who are the biggest economy in the world and China the third biggest economy in the world.

There have been many problems between the two countries in the past year including the value of China’s currency, trade protectionism, Internet freedoms and Tibet.

The plan for an arms deal set for Taiwan is the latest in a series of arms deals around the world by the US but first by the Obama administration.

One English Chinese newspaper has written “China’s response, no matter how vehement, is justified. No country worthy of respect can sit idle while its national security is endangered and core interests damaged,”

China have also said that the last of the many recent problems faced between the two country’s will damage cooperation with the U.S. over international issues. Washington has sought stronger Chinese support over several international hotspots, chiefly the nuclear ambitions of Iran and North Korea.
