Turkey: Anatolian leopard (Panthera Pardus Tulliana) lives

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci said that the Anatolian leopard, which has not been seen since 1974 and thought to be extinct, has started to appear again.

Kirişci participated in the ‘World Biodiversity Day’ event at the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM).

Noting that the geography where Turkey is located is the one where biodiversity intersects, Minister Kirişçi stated that the Anatolian leopard, which was last seen in 1974 and thought extinct, has started to be seen again.

Kirişçi said, “We now know that the Anatolian leopard, which was last seen in our country in 1974 and thought to be extinct, has started to reappear.

Kirişci shared the images of the endangered Anatolian Leopard from his social media account. Minister Kirişci, who gave the message that they had to protect the Anatolian Leopard, used the following expressions:

“Here is the Anatolian Leopard, whose existence has been proven in our four regions. We have to protect them, so we will keep their habitats secret. I sincerely congratulate those who contributed.”
