Brazil Goalkeeper Flamengo’s Bruno de Souza in jail for kidnap

A Brazilian goalkeeper who plays for one of the most known teams in the country has surrendered to police officials after being on the run after allegations of murdering his ex-lover.

Bruno de Souza Arrested after giving himself up for allegedly kidnapping his girlfriend.

Brazilian goal keeper Bruno Souza, better known as Bruno has given himself up to Brazilian police after being ordered to serve 5-days in jail, while Brazilian security officials investigate the disappearance of Eliza Samudio the goalkeeper’s former lover.

The 25-year-old model and new mother had been missing since June after it was alleged that she had been taken to one of Bruno’s homes in Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro.

Officials believe that Samudio was strangled after Bruno’s cousin had alleged that he had helped Bruno abduct the model and that she was dead, but he had given no further information.

The body of Samudio who claimed that the father of her four-month-old baby was Bruno, has still not been found.

It has also been reported that, Luiz Henrique Ferreira Romao a friend of Bruno and Bruno’s wife, Dayane Souza, who was found with Samudio’s baby has also been arrested.

The 17-year-old cousin of Bruno who was arrested on Tuesday had admitted that Bruno had forcefully been placed into Bruno’s car and that the goalkeeper had hit the model with a pistol.

Police had earlier found traces of blood in Bruno’s car that matched with Samudio after DNA tests were made.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper has also been who played for Flamengo who were champions of the Brazilian league last season have suspended Bruno and have taken him off the team sheet until the investigation is over.
