The German’s which started the match on a high after beating Turkey 3-0 on Friday were their usual self with a controlled game that saw few chances given to the home side.

The first half saw the German’s miss some glorious chances and enjoyed the majority of the possession though it was disappointing for the visiting fans after a 45 minutes with no goals.

However the German’s made up for the goalless half within three minutes after Mesut Özil who gave a world class through ball to Lukas Podolski who gave a simple ball to Klose, who struck twice against Turkey, to score the opener.

Germany who came third in this summer’s 2010 World Cup in South Africa continued to play their controlled possession football but it was not until the 76th minute after the visitors made it 2-0.

Gomez who intercepted the ball from a Kazak defender ran with the ball towards the goal and did a one-two pass with Özil to find himself one-on-one with the keeper. Gomez struck well and the ball was behind the net.

Germany’s third and arguably best goal came from Podolski who ran 30 meters with the ball from the touchline weaving pass at least seven Kazak players and scoring a beautiful goal on the 85th minute.

Germany are currently cruising in Group A with five points ahead Austria who are second in the group and six points ahead of Turkey who are third.

Austria however still have a game in hand against 5th position Azerbaijan.
