New Delhi, April 25/Nationalturk- With India and China armies face-off position in mountainous Ladakh in Indian administered Kashmir after reported Chinese troops incursion on April 15, Beijing has reiterated that its troops never trespassed in Indian territory while Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid will be visiting China on May 9 to defuse the crisis and end the impasse.

“Chinese Peoples’ Liberation Army soldiers have strictly observed relevant agreements between China and India,” China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a daily press briefing in Beijing.

She said Chinese troops have confined their activities within the China border and never trespassed across the line.

“China and India have already established a consultation and coordination mechanism on border issues. The communication channels are open. The maintenance of peace along the border is the consensus between China and India and complies with both their interests,” Hua said.

India has alleged that China’s People’s Liberation Army soldiers crossed 10 kilometres (six miles) into Indian territory position in Depsang Valley in Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector in Ladakh on April 15 and set up tents there and have refused to go back to their side of the LAC.  India has also alleged that two Chinese helicopters also violated Indian airspace in the region.

Indian army sources said two flag meetings were held between Indian and Chinese military officials to defuse tension. They said during both the meeting, Chinese officials refused to leave from Depsang Valley.

The small incursions are common across the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the de facto border between India and China that runs some 4,000 km (2,500 miles) across the Himalayas.

India’s Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid will be visiting China on May 9.  He is hopeful that the impasse would be resolved through dialogue and despite the failure of the last two flag meets

“Flag meetings between Chinese and Indian army officers have taken place and more will take place. Indian Army will judge. There is a mechanism that we have set to make military personnel solve such issues. I am sure they will find a way to solve it,” Khurshid had said.

Stating that negotiations were going, he had said, “I hope we will find a solution. I think we are going in the right direction”.

The India Foreign ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin has already asked China to revert to the status quo position in Depsang Valley in Ladakh as it was before the incursion.

  1. Why we think of military solution to the problem. Have diplomatic dialogue & demarcate IB/LAC amicably. Infact rather than buying military hardware from USA & eastern countries, think of Chinese hardware and there will be peace in Asia. We will be able to address internal problem and developmental issues.Let us change the mindset of China No 1 enemy.
