Annual inflation is 54.4% in Turkey

The Consumer Price Index increased by 4.81 percent on a monthly basis, and the Domestic Producer Price Index increased by 7.22 percent on a monthly basis. Annual inflation was recorded as 54.44 percent in consumer prices and 105.01 percent in domestic producer prices.

According to the data of the Turkish Statistical Institute, as of February, when 12-month averages are taken into account, consumer prices increased by 25.98 percent and domestic producer prices increased by 56.83 percent.

On a monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 4.81 and the Domestic Producer Price Index (D-PPI) rose by 7.22 percent.

CPI increased by 54.44 percent in February compared to the same month of the previous year, and D-PPI increased by 105.01 percent.

In December 2021, annual inflation was recorded as 48.69 percent.

<h3>D-PPI increased by 98.7 percent in mining and quarrying on an annual basis in February</h3>

In February 2022, D-PPI increased by 7.22 percent compared to the previous month, by 18.43 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 105.01 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and by 56.83 percent according to the 12-month averages.

The annual changes in the 4 sectors of the industry in February were 98.7 percent in mining and quarrying, 97.86 percent in manufacturing, 202.51 percent in electricity and gas production and distribution, and 33.73 percent in water supply.

Looking at the monthly changes of these groups, there was an increase of 6.39 percent in mining and quarrying, 5.6 percent in manufacturing, 24.66 percent in electricity and gas production and distribution, and 7.37 percent in water supply.

When the annual changes of the main industrial groups are analyzed, there was an increase of 115.13 percent in intermediate goods, 69.2 percent in durable goods, 70 percent in non-durable goods, 188.47 percent in energy and 71.9 percent in capital goods.

Looking at the monthly changes of these groups, there was an increase of 5.33 percent in intermediate goods, 7.66 percent in durable goods, 5.38 percent in non-durable goods, 19.98 percent in energy and 4.79 percent in capital goods.

The lowest annual increase was 33.73% in water and water treatment and distribution products. This was followed by the apparel with 34.41 percent and the basic pharmaceutical products and preparations sub-sectors with 37.68 percent. On the other hand, crude oil and natural gas were the sub-sectors where the indexes increased the most with 213.67%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution by 202.51% and coke and refined petroleum products with 198.88%.

The lowest monthly increase was in tobacco products with 1.2 percent, clothing with 2.82 percent, computers and electronic and optical products with 2.9 percent. On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution were recorded as the sub-sectors where the indices increased the most, with 24.66 percent, crude oil and natural gas by 20.52 percent, and basic pharmaceutical products and preparations by 17.63 percent.
