Mila Kunis donates mega sum to her home country

Mila Kunis is particularly moved by Putin’s war of aggression. Their Ukrainian homeland is the target of brutal violence. Together with her husband Ashton Kutcher she has raised a huge sum of money.

Any amount can help – and this one even more so. Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher launched their fundraiser for Ukrainian war refugees in early March. The response seems to have been great. The Ukrainian-American actress and her husband announced on Friday that they have already surpassed their $30 million fundraising goal for refugees from Ukraine.

“We want to say that we have achieved our goal. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the support,” Kunis said in a joint video. More than 65,000 people would have donated. “While the problem is far from solved, our combined effort will allow many people a softer landing as they head into an uncertain future.”

Kutcher added that the Hollywood couple’s work isn’t done yet. They now wanted to ensure that the “wave of love” had the maximum impact on those in need. New donations keep coming. The actor couple launched the campaign in early March and announced that they wanted to donate three million dollars themselves.

The couple have already forwarded the current donation amount to the Airbnb accommodation platform and the Flexport forwarding company so that these companies can act. “We will treat every dollar as if it came out of our own pocket,” Kunis and Kutcher said in their joint video.

Kunis was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, in 1983 and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1991. She always felt like an American, but today she is a “proud Ukrainian,” said the 38-year-old. The actress called the Russian invasion of Ukraine an “unjust attack on humanity”.
