No royal surprise at Taylor Swift’s wedding: William and Kate will not attend

Prince William and Kate Middleton will not attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding.

The royal attendance rumors surrounding Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding have come to an end. Prince and Princess of Wales will not be among the guests at the highly anticipated ceremony.

William had fueled speculation

Speculation grew after Prince William was asked in May on Heart Breakfast whether he had received an invitation to the wedding.

William smiled and replied, “No comment.”

He then added, “I’m hoping, and I’m sure there might be an invitation around, but we’ll see,” prompting rumors that he and Kate could make a surprise appearance.

Swift and William’s friendship goes back years

Prince William and Taylor Swift first met in 2013 at the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala at Kensington Palace.

The two later joined Jon Bon Jovi onstage for an impromptu performance of “Livin’ on a Prayer.”

In June 2024, William also attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

After the show, Swift shared a backstage photo with William, George and Charlotte, while Travis Kelce also posed with the royal family.

Wedding compared to a royal celebration

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in August 2025 after two years of dating.

Their wedding has been described in the U.S. media as America’s version of a royal wedding, but William and Kate will not be making the trip for the ceremony.
