Pakistan army chief has said military during its ongoing offensive in country’s North Waziristan tribal Agency (NWA) has destroyed terror infrastructure of local and foreign terrorists.
Islamabad, Aug 1/Nationalturk – Pakistan army chief General Raheel Sharif has said Pakistan military during its offensive in country’s North Waziristan tribal Agency (NWA) has destroyed terror infrastructure of terrorists.
“The terrorists’ infrastructure in the North Waziristan Agency has been destroyed and they will never be able to return to the area,” Sharif said while interacting with soldiers in North Waziristan Agency, where Pakistan military launched operation against terrorists on June 15.
According to Pakistan army about 500 terrorists have been killed in the over one and a half month long operation and their command centre has been destroyed.
Pakistan army chief visited North Waziristan on July 29 and celebrated Eidul Fitr, marking the end of fasting month of Ramadan, with the soldiers deployed on the frontline.
‘Soldiers should skilfully conduct operation’
While interacting with the troops, General Sharif advised them to stay focused on the speedy and skilfully conduct of the operation against all the terrorists.
“Now that their command and communication infrastructure has been disrupted, we will never allow them to return,” he said.
He reiterated that the military operation will continue till the complete elimination of terrorists. “We will not allow terrorists, who have fled, to return”.
General Sharif also spoke on the need to strengthen the surveillance of the Pakistan-Afghan border to prevent any infiltration of terrorists from across the border to undermine the effects of the operation codenamed Zarb-e-Azb.
He pledged not to stop short of eradicating the menace of terrorism from across the country. “The objective of a terror-free Pakistan could be accomplished with the sustained focus of the nation,” he said.
