Queen Elizabeth felt ‘very tired and exhausted’ with Covid

The British royal family always says: Queen Elizabeth II’s corona disease is mild, she only has a cold. A few weeks later, the 95-year-old monarch hinted that she was doing much worse than expected during this time.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II apparently felt worse during her Covid illness in February than the palace portrayed at the time. “It makes you very tired and exhausted, doesn’t it?” the Queen said in a video of a conversation with a former Covid patient at a London hospital ward named after her. She went on to say, “This terrible pandemic. It’s not all nice.” The Queen told the station’s construction crew that it was “very interesting” how everyone worked together “when it came to something vital.” “Isn’t that wonderful?”

Speaking to an imam who works in hospitals, the Queen said that having “very bad Covid” must be a particularly bad experience. Regarding the seriously ill patients, the Imam explained: “I think what made it worse was that they only had each other.” The Queen added: “Exactly. They were also alone…”

In February, however, Buckingham Palace said the Queen was only suffering from “mild cold-like symptoms”. The Queen has recently had repeated health problems. In October last year she had to spend a night in the hospital, the exact cause of which was never disclosed. Since then, she has had to cancel a number of events and has rarely appeared in public.

Most recently, she attended the memorial service for her husband Prince Philip, who died a year ago, last Tuesday. On the other hand, she canceled her traditional participation in the Maundy Thursday service, instead she is represented by her son and heir to the throne, Prince Charles. The Queen turns 96 on April 21.
