Real Madrid advance to Club World Cup final

Real Madrid advanced to the 2014 Club World Cup final after beating Mexican club Cruz Azul 4-0 in the semifinal match that took place in Moroccan capital city of Marrakech on Tuesday.

Scorers for Real Madrid were Spanish center-back Sergio Ramos, French striker Karim Benzema, Welsh winger Gareth Bale and Spanish attacking midfielder Isco.

Meanwhile Cruz Azul midfielder Gerardo Torrado missed a penalty in the 40th minute of the game.

Real Madrid’s opponent in the final will be unveiled after the semifinal match between New Zealand’s Auckland City and Argentine team San Lorenzo on Wednesday.

Final and third place games of the tournament will be played on Saturday.

The Club World Cup has been organized annually since 2005 by football’s international governing body, FIFA.

Participants include the victors of the Champions League in Europe and the winners of similar competitions in Asia, Africa, South America, North America and Oceania.
