Social media star Cat Janice is dead

Cat Janice just scored a hit with her song “Dance You Outta My Head”. Now the TikTok singer has died. That is the cause of death.

1.9 million people followed Cat Janice on TikTok. In November 2022, the singer-songwriter made her cancer diagnosis public and from then on provided her community with regular updates.

After noticing a growing lump on her neck, she had it examined. The result: The American had a sarcoma, which is a rare, malignant tumor that can arise from connective tissue, bones and muscles.

Cat Janice underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation – with success. In July 2022, she announced that she was cancer-free in a TikTok clip. But just a year later the disease returned and the cancer was now in the singer’s lungs. The 31-year-old went back for treatment. But now her family says she has lost the fight for her life.

On Wednesday, Cat Janice’s family addressed the social media star’s followers in an Instagram post: “This morning, Catherine passed peacefully from her childhood home and surrounded by her family into the light and love of her heavenly Creator. ”

The relatives also thanked them for their support over the past few months. Shortly before her death, Cat Janice released the song “Dance You Outta My Head” for her son Loren – with the aim of providing her child with financial security after her death. All income from downloads and streams should benefit the seven-year-old.

“Cat saw her music go to places she never expected – and now rests in the knowledge that she will continue to provide for her son through her music.

This wouldn’t have been possible without you,” her family said. The track “Dance You Outta My Head” made it into the US Top 40 Billboard charts for dance music at the end of January.

On January 10, Cat Janice posted one of her final TikTok posts. In it, she gave her followers a health update.

“I’m in hospice now and don’t know my schedule. The tumor has tripled in size practically overnight. The cancer is making it almost impossible to talk,” she wrote. According to People magazine, Janice was moved from intensive care to hospice because she could no longer breathe.
