Counting Continues in Critical States, Biden Closes to Presidency

Vote count continues in the 59th presidential election in the USA. Having reached 264 delegates, Joe Biden seems close to victory.

In the election marked by Donald Trump’s allegations of fraud, Democratic candidate Joe Biden received more votes than any presidential candidate so far, although the vote count continues.

While the record for participation in the election is broken, the vote count continues in critical states, so the winner is not yet clear. Results from Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Wisconsin, Nevada and Pennsylvania will determine the US President.

Trump is expected to bring the elections in Wisconsin and Michigan led by Biden, as well as Georgia and Pennsylvania, to the judiciary.

In the US presidential elections, voters mainly vote for delegates of the party they support. In this system, called the “Board of Delegates”, a total of 538 delegates are assigned to each state with different weights. The candidate who reaches 1 more than half of this number, ie 270 delegates, is entitled to be the president.
