Has Qatar Hired Pakistani Fans?

Days before the start of the World Cup, images from the fan festivals held in Qatar brought along claims of "for sale or fake fans".

In the videos shared, it is seen that even the “German” fan groups are made up of Pakistanis. Has Qatar Hired Pakistani Fans?

The claim that hundreds of ‘fake fans’ attended the festivals fell like a bombshell on the European agenda. It is claimed that Qatar hired ‘rental fans’ for fear of leaving the stands empty.

The images on the streets of Doha, the capital of Qatar, became one of the most talked about social media. Qatar Living, Qatar’s official account on TikTok, shared videos of hundreds of ‘fans’ gathered with flags, painted faces and banners from different countries.

It remains unclear whether the supporters partying in the streets are migrant workers living in Qatar, and it is not known whether the marches were organized by the authorities. One video shows supposedly Brazilian fans on the city’s coastline, the Doha Corniche, while other videos show fans from Portugal, Argentina, Ghana, Cameroon and Tunisia.

The Germans, the British are all brunettes!

While it is noteworthy that in the images of the British supporters, who all look like Pakistanis in character, the behaviors of the fans seem to be carefully selected and fictionalized, this situation brought to mind the allegations of “fake supporters”. Pakistani “fans” wearing the German jersey and waving the flag of this country in the videos were also the subject of ridicule on social media.

In the meantime, the fact that there were no women among the fans in the videos shared was also a matter of discussion.

Fearing that the stadiums will be empty during the World Cup, Qatar allegedly hired thousands of “rent fans” from Pakistan. The Qatari administration, which brought security forces from Pakistan to the country to ensure the security of the tournament, is expected to fill the stands with Pakistani fans.
