Ryanair had owned crash jet last year

Ryanair had owned crash jet last yearThe Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed into the sea with 90 people on board was a Ryanair jet just last year.

But the budget airline, which sold the Boeing 737 to leasing company CIT, refused to confirm if the crash will prompt safety checks on its fleet.

Meanwhile, it has emerged the pilot on Monday’s flight out of Lebanon flew in the opposite direction to the one suggested by air controllers.

Lebanese transport minister Ghazi Aridi said: “They asked him to correct his path but he did a fast, strange turn before disappearing from the radar.

“Nobody is saying the pilot is to blame for not heeding orders, there could have been many reasons for what happened.”

Investigators have ruled out terrorism or sabotage.
