U.S. President Donald Trump made striking remarks about Iran and Venezuela during a speech at Mount Rushmore. Trump claimed that Iran was eager to reach an agreement and said the U.S. had allowed one week for Ali Khamenei’s funeral.
Trump spoke in the town of Keystone, South Dakota, as part of events marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
Praising U.S. military operations against Venezuela and Iran, Trump said, “We defeated Venezuela in one day and we flattened Iran. They are dying to make a deal, they want a deal so badly.”
Trump also referred to the funeral held for Iran’s religious leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed in the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Tehran on February 28.
“We gave them one week for the funeral because we are good people,” Trump said.
