Sunday Public protests has intensely protested the ministers of the AKP government at TEB BNP Paribas WTA Championships tournament.

Awards Ceremony was held after the final match at Sinan Erdem Spor Hall. The names of the sponsors were announced during the ceremony. After the announcements of the names

Kadir Topbas- Mayor of Istanbul, Binali Yildirim- Minister of Transport, Fatma Sahin- Minister of Family&Social Policies were invited for a speech.

Right after the names were pronounced the protest began and people started to boo and jeer. Minister Yildirim and Sahin followed Topbas to the stage. But the jeer and the people’s protest against the ministers and the mayor grew stronger.

Minister of Family&Social Policies Fatma Sahin’s voice was downed by the protest. Venus Williams was puzzled by the protests. 16 thousands of people insisted on their protest against the AKP ministers until they left.

The main reason of the resistant protests against the oppressive AKP regime was the prohibition it has introduced against the celebrations people wanted to hold in memorial of the founder of the modern Turkiye.

While the Turkish public wanted to celebrate the Republic founded 89 years ago, today, the AKP officials made tremendous efforts to prevent it from happening.

As it is known world-wide many writers and intellectuals who are in opposition to the AKP regime are currently imprisoned.
