Breaking News–Turkish military enter North Iraq to hunt PKK militants

Breaking News – The Turkish army has entered into the Iraqi territory for the first time in 2 years after an attack by the PKK terrorists in the City of Şırnak Southeast of Turkey on the border of Iraq.

Turkish helicopter_1The fight between the Turkish army and PKK terrorists started in the Uludere area of Şırnak in the early hours of Wednesday before the PKK terrorists entered into the Iraqi border to flee.

The Turkish military then went around 3 kilometers into the Northern Iraqi border where it was reported that four PKK terrorists were killed.

The attacks by the Turkish military on the PKK terrorists were by air in the Iraqi border which the Turkish military said that the mission was successful.

PKK terrorist activity has increased in the past two months with at least 32 Turkish soldiers losing their life, a trend which occurs during the summer period but the attacks in 2010 have been much fierce so far.

PKK leader, Abdullah Öcalan who was captured in 1999 and is currently in a Turkish prison has said in late May that, he will no longer be involved in trying to calm the attacks on Turkish soldiers.
