A fantastic Blue Cruise and a newly built marina at the meeting point of beautiful azure Aegean and Mediterranean waters have attracted great deal of the interest from world’s jet set, most famous billionaires, Hollywood stars, politicians and prominent athletes. They have arrived at Bodrum, Turkey not only via airport also by sea with their super luxury yachts.

Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry data shows that Turkey received 17,624,969 tourists in the first seven months of this year — a 10.64 percent increase compared to the same period last year. The southwestern province of Mugla with special vacation destinations like Bodrum or Marmaris have also seen a boom in numbers of visiting tourists among the same period. With a 3% increase in comparison to the same period last year, the number of visiting tourists exceed 1.750 Million, among them many global celebrities.

Which Hollywood stars, athletes, politicians or billionairs were having vacation in Bodrum this summer?

Top model Naomi Campbell and her boyfriend Russian billionaire Vladislav Voronin with a 175k Euro super yacht, another British top model Kate Moss, Real Madrid star Christiano Ronaldo and her top model girlfriend Irina Shayk were among the celebrities who were on Blue Cruise tours and all had spent time in Bodrum. Nba star Hedo (Hidayet) Turkoglu relaxed in Bodrum.

Spartacus star Kirk Douglas and Oscar winner son Micheal Douglas with his wife Catherine Zeta Jones have stayed at Bodrum Marina during their Blue Cruise tours at Bodrum and Dalaman coastal area. Famous director Steven Spielberg was at Marmaris marina with his ultra luxury yacht ‘Seven Seas’. Tina Turner have also been in Mugla for vacation.

Politicians from all over the world have chosen Mugla and Bodrum for their summer vacation as well. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is a frequent visitor of Bodrum, while Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia from Spanish Royal House, Albanian President Bamir Topi, former Spanish President Felipe Gonzales Marqueez, Azerbaijani and Serbian vice prime ministers, Qatar Emir Hamad Bin Halife El Tani and Royal family members Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani and Joaan bin hamad bin Khalife-Thani have also visited Bodrum or Marmaris this summer for vacation. The 82 meters long ‘Sarafsa’, one of the 100 biggest yachts in the world, owned by the King of Jordan, Abdullah had docked for a while in Marmaris. Founder and CEO of Oracle sofware, Larry Ellison docked his 128 meters long yacht ‘Rising Sun’ in Bodrum. CEO of Mittal Steel Company, Lakshmi Mittal, who is the number 5 wealthiest man in the world, arrived at İztuzu Beach in Dalyan with his yacht ‘ Amevi’, another coastal beauty of Mugla.
