Abdolmalek Rigi the Iranian terrorist mastermind of Jundullah hanged

The leader of the Iranian terror group, known as the Jundullah’s, has been hanged on the orders of the Islamic Revolution Court for various different crimes and was convicted for being a mohareba (enemy of God).

Abdolmalek Rigi, an Iranian terrorist who was convicted for dozens of crimes has been hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison in the early morning hours in the presence of the family’s of some of his victims.

The Daily Times news agency quoted the Iranian state television, as saying “Abdolmalek Rigi was hanged at dawn today. He was convicted for many crimes like being behind many deadly attacks and killing dozens of innocent people,”

Rigi who was in his 20’s was detained along with an aid at the Bandar Abbas Airport by Iranian security forces during a flight from the United Arab Emirates to Kyrgyzstan.

He was found guilty of a total of 79 offences including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, seeking financial assistance from foreigners, seeking intelligence information from foreigners, assassination attempts, terrorist activities and armed attacks on the army, police and civilians the court statement said.

The court added “He collaborated in and ordered 15 armed abductions, confessed to three murders, and ordered the murders of dozens of citizens, police, and military personnel through bombings and armed actions,”

in just one of the deadly attacks by the Jundullah’s in late 2009, as reported 42 people had died including several civilians and five senior commanders of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, known for their fierce support of the Islamic state in Iran.

The group had also claimed an attack on a mosque where 21 people lost their lives and 200 were injured in May 2009.

It has been said that the terrorist group had used the Iranian, Afghan and Pakistani borders to plan and carry out their attacks.

Nazir Ahmed Salami, a senior Sunni cleric who represents the Sistan-Baluchestan Province said “The execution of Abdolmalek Rigi is the result of his shameful acts, and other criminals should be aware that if they continue with their outrageous acts against Islam in the country (Iran), they will meet the same fate as this criminal.”

The chief of Abdolmalek Rigi’s tribe, Bashir Ahmad Rigi said “The hanging showed Iran will not allow its territory to be used by criminal. With the execution of Abdolmalek, the disgraceful stigma of our tribe was eliminated,”

It has been reported that while in custody Abdolmalek Rigi allegedly confessed to receiving financial aid from the United States military stationed in Afghanistan, but the confession is thought to have come after heavy torture.
