A man who worked at a convenience store on just $7.25 an hour has won $258 million the tenth largest jackpot ever in the U.S. Lotto.

Chris Shaw, 29 who worked at the Break Time convenience store in Marshall, 80 miles from Kansas city has reportedly bought the $5 ticket while his bank account showed only $28.96.

The former truck driver who started to work in a local convenience store to be closer to his family said “We didn’t come from money. For us it’s just going to be a huge relief to know I’m going to be able to pay my electric bill, my gas bill. It’s like a weight lifted. I had bills at home, I didn’t know how they were going to be paid.”

He also spoke of taking his family to Disney World in Florida and getting his front two teeth taken care of as they are missing.

Co-workers of the 29-year-old at the Break Time convenience also said of their delight that it was Mr Shaw who won the jackpot. Natasha Wood who sold him the winning ticket said “It could have been me that won the money, but I am so excited for him,”

When asked did he say he will give you any money she replied “He said he will give me a couple of million, but I think he will give me something, he is that type of guy”

The store manager said “I have him on camera saying he will give some money if he won. But I am glad it was Chris that won, he only started here three weeks ago but he needed the money, he used to be a truck driver but he left that job and started here to be closer to his family.”
