Lebanon, Turkey aim to scrap entry visas

Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri ‘s Office said on Sunday that his visit to Turkey is aimed at scrapping entry visas for the nationals of the two countries, Xinhua reported.

Hariri’s visit to Turkey is aimed at scrapping entry visas for the nationals of the two countries and consolidating defense, health and agricultural cooperation, the office said.

During his three-day trip beginning on Sunday, Hariri is expected to meet with Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Monday.
The two sides will also discuss the Palestinian issue and latest developments in the Middle East, according to the office.

Lebanese Interior Minister Ziad Baroud, who is accompanying Hariri, will sign the agreement on scrapping the entry visas on behalf of Lebanon.Baroud will also sign with his Turkish counterpart an agreement on training, arming and exchanging expertise between the two armies.

From Ankara, Hariri is scheduled to head for Istanbul on Tuesday to attend a Turkish-Lebanese economic gathering.
