Turkey angered by Swedish genocide vote

Erdogan angryTurkey angered by Sweden as Swedish parliament Narrowly pass resolution that declares the 1915 mass murder of Armenian’s as genocide.

After the United States, Sweden has also passed a resolution that see’s the 1915 mass murder of Armenian’s in Turkey as genocide.

The resolution that passed in the United States, had been condemned by the Obama administration and only narrowly passed.

The Swedish Resolution was also passed very narrowly with 131 votes to 130 in favour of the genocide ruling, from a 349-seat assembly in which 88 lawmakers were absent.

The Turkey ambassador in Sweden was called back to Turkey in protest to the decision. Turkey had used the same protest to the United States by calling the US ambassador to Turkey.

Just as the Obama administration, the Swedish governing center-right coalition were against the measure, but it passed due to a couple of center-right lawmakers who sided with the left wing opposition which proposed the resolution.

According to historians, an estimated 1.5 million Armenian’s were killed by the Ottoman Turks during World War I.

Turkeys have sternly denied the genocide talks of the Armenian mass killings as they say the amount of killings were much less then the 1.5 million that historians believe to be and that at the time of the killings there was civil war and unrest in the country.

“the decision will unfortunately not have a positive effect on the ongoing normalization process between Turkey and Armenia.” said the Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt.

  1. Actually you don’t need to feel bad for the Turkish Ambassadors. They will always find a job as there CV will be very chunky:))). But he never lost his job anyway:)))). You know who should be felt sorry for, the Turkish people because of the silly and self sided government that the people chose. But hang on The people elected the government write??????
You don’t need to feel sorry for anyone;)

  2. At this rate, Turkey is not going to have any ambassadors left anywhere in the world. Who would have ever guessed what a bad career move it was to become a Turkish ambassador. How are these guys ever going to get other jobs? I can’t imagine there are too many jobs in the world with “expert in genocide-denial” in the job description. I feel bad for them. Maybe they’ll get a job with the Ahmedinejad administration in Iran.
