Silvia Laubenbacher’s last wish for her children

Two and a half months ago, the former “Sam” presenter Silvia Laubenbacher succumbed to her cancer. She left her two children an emotional suicide note. Parts of this are now public.

In 2014, TV presenter Silvia Laubenbacher received the shock diagnosis of breast cancer. Since then, the TV star, who was particularly well known for the ProSieben lunchtime magazine “Sam”, has been fighting the insidious disease. In March of this year, the mother of two died at the age of just 56. She left touching lines in a farewell letter to her 21-year-old daughter Yuma and her two-year-old brother Taro. Some passages from this have now been made public.

“It was so much fun”

The “Bild” newspaper, which spoke to Laubenbach’s widower Percy Hoven about his grief a good ten weeks after the death of “my beautiful wife”, published some text passages. The moderator wrote this letter with her last strength. “I’m so grateful to be your mother. It was so much fun bringing you into the world, watching you grow up,” the TV presenter turns to her two children.

She also goes into individual special moments of her now adult offspring. Laubenbacher: “I was happy to choose the wedding dress with you, dear Yuma. With you, dear Taro, to experience the graduation party. Whatever you do in your life – please be sure that I will watch from above.”

“Your father will need you when I’m gone”

She also gives her children advice to take with them. So Yuma should get her driver’s license and finish her studies. Taro should do his high school diploma “despite all the sadness”. And they should stop smoking.

Laubenbacher also wants her children to trust her father, but she also makes an appeal to her: “Be good to him. He will need you when I’m no longer here.” Hoven has already revealed that his daughter and son are fulfilling their mother’s last wish and are his support during this difficult time.
