The 11-year-old pressed the magical red button after a 10 second count down in the midst of 20,000 spectators who came to watch the stadium implode after six months of planning and over a ton of explosives.

The stadium famous for it’s whole in the roof so that god can watch over the Dallas Cowboys was the scene for the legendary 70s and 90 Dallas team that dominated the American Football League.

The Dallas Cowboys had left the stadium to move to the $1.2 billion Cowboys stadium in Arlington known as the Jerry World after the 2008 season.

A former cheerleader of the Dallas Cowboys, Pam Seal, said to local media “I’m so glad that I had my family out there to hold my hand through it. I didn’t think I would be that much of a basket case about it. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend.”

It has been reported that the steel and concrete from the stadium will be used on the Texas State Highway 114 after removal crews started to work on Monday to remove the rubble which is estimated to take up to June to clear.

It is not yet known what the location of the demolished Texas Stadium will be used for.
