Russian soldiers are said to have tortured nuclear plant workers to death

In Ukraine, the Russian army occupies the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant.

Horrific scenes are said to have taken place there.

Russian soldiers are said to have tortured a diver to death at the occupied Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine. This is what Dmytro Orlov, the mayor of the nearby town of Energodar, reports on Telegram. Accordingly, the “experienced and professional diver” Andriy Goncharuk refused to dive into a pool.

Then the “monsters in human form” brutally beat up Goncharuk. Goncharuk was taken to a hospital in Energodar with life-threatening injuries and initially fell into a coma, Mayor Orlov said. The man succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. “Our deepest sympathy goes to the families and loved ones of the deceased,” Orlov wrote on Telegram. “We will never forget or forgive the atrocities committed by the occupiers and their collaborators!”

The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant has six reactor blocks, making it the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. About a quarter of Ukraine’s electricity is produced there. The Russian army has occupied the facility since the beginning of March, and it will continue to be operated by the Ukrainian utility Energoatom. Most recently, remote monitoring of the reactors was interrupted after Russian troops switched off the mobile phone networks used to transmit the data.
