Another Russian general killed in Ukraine

Another general has apparently died in Ukraine. It is the deputy commander of the 8th Army. Vladimir Frolov was buried in St. Petersburg.

Another Russian major general died in the Ukraine war. Vladimir Frolov was the Deputy Commander of the 8th Russian Army. According to the Russian news agency Tass, he died during the invasion of Ukraine.

The agency wrote that Frolov was buried with military honors at the Serafimovsky Cemetery in St. Petersburg. “Today we bid farewell to a true hero. Vladimir Petrovich Frolov died a heroic death in battle with Ukrainian nationalists,” the press service quoted Governor Alexander Beglov as saying during the farewell ceremony.

The Russian army has apparently already lost at least seven major generals in its war of aggression against Ukraine. That would be more than a quarter of the one-star generals that, according to consistent media reports, it has deployed in Ukraine since the beginning of the war.

At the end of March it was reported that Yakov Ryazantsev had fallen. The commander of the 49th army of the southern district is said to have been killed in a bomb attack on the airport of Chernobaivka in the Kherson region, said Ukrainian presidential aide Oleksiy Arestovych. The information could not be confirmed.
